Helping you run events
About Me
I’m Col – an adventure-loving bloke who sees running as an incredible way to explore. Over the years, I’ve thrown myself into all kinds of running and general outdoor adventures, from amazing ultras to epic mountain days. I have both participated in awesome events and self organised & supported routes of my own.
Along the way, I’ve developed a real understanding and passion for the nuts and bolts that go into planning these events, to make them seamless and more importantly, unforgettably enjoyable.
Supporting people
I know all about the trials and tribulations of these endevaours as a participant, and how important it is to have thought about every eventuality so that people only have to focus / concentrate on themselves.
I want to help others explore the places I love, as well as discovering what they are capable of, so I’ve decided to follow my passion, and pursue this by getting away from my comfortable desk and screen and get out there.
How I can help
Volunteers currently play a crucial role in this industry, but perhaps the amount and type of support they are able to offer is limited and their commitment is unreliable. This is particularly true with involvement pre event day.
Support for small events
Smaller scale events are often organised by a single race director, who has a million plates to spin, and relies on the crucial support of volunteers.
Coordination for large events
Large scale events have more scope for unforeseen issues arising and maybe just need more bodies on the ground with an end to end understanding of the event.
If this sounds familiar, then perhaps you could use some support in the build up to the event, as well as on the day(s).
-
General event support from the assistant race director, ensuring seamless coordination of all event operations.
Aid station crewing, enabling efficient support for participants with hydration and nutrition.
Course and route planning, designed to optimize both the runner experience and safety considerations.
Route reconnaissance to verify terrain conditions and identify any potential challenges prior to the event.
Course marking to ensure clear navigation for participants, enhancing their racing experience.
Landowner consultation to secure necessary permissions and maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders.
Supplier, partner, and stakeholder liaison to facilitate effective collaboration and resource management for a successful event.

Who I’ve worked with
Digital Consultancy
There’s so much more to events than the on the day experience. I understand that putting together your website, and payment platforms, and impoirtant digital documentation and creating a solid pre race experience is crucial to the success on the day.
Digital marketing & website support
There is the digital marketing of a website to generate awareness of your event ; the application, registration and payment processes of sign up; and the important participation and volunteer communication of key information prior to event day.
The day job. My day job deals with all of these things on the regular, and I am familiar with lots of challenges and poor experiences from huge google drives and PDF document version control!
Let’s chat
Each event is different, and there isn’t a one size fits all approach. So let’s chat and discuss how we could help one another
